Google issues ultimatum to non-responsive sites

Recently Google announced that they will be making changes to how their search rankings are listed which will have “a significant impact on search results“. Mobile-friendliness will now be an important ranking factor, much more than it had been previously, and the new change will effect Google searches worldwide from the 21st of April, 2015. Google claims that as a result of this change “users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimised for their devices“.

Announcing that mobile-friendliness will impact their algorithm in searches comes as no surprise really, however Google isn’t known to give early warning of updates so it’s quite likely this change could have a significant impact on the search results.

So is your site ready? You can check how mobile-friendly your website is by using the Google Mobile-Friendly Test here.
