Adelaide Fringe 2013

Each year the Adelaide Fringe branding, which is guided by the annual Fringe poster competition, brings something new and quirky to the city of Adelaide through outdoor banners, the program guide and of course the ever present Fringe Poster.

From the stencil art of 2010, to the particularly freaky collage of 2011, to the water colour of 2012 the 2013 poster takes the leap into the digital age as it is the first Adelaide Fringe poster to be designed completely on an iPad.

The theme for this year’s poster competition was ‘inside out’ and local Adelaide painter, performance and video artist, Andy Petrusevics represented this theme by featuring a cartoon Fringe artist, who looks suspiciously like an egg, with a bird sitting above his head.

Despite mixed reviews, the poster does certainly capture the excitement and energy that the Fringe brings to Adelaide – starting on February 15 and running until March 17, 2013.

So get out and enjoy the last of the warmer climate, whether this is laughing at the multitude of visiting and local comedians or taking in the cultural and creative acts scattered throughout Adelaide and surrounding areas.
